Curtain in the Breeze

This piece serves as an experiment in pushing the boundaries of plywood; by weaving together two layers of maple veneer, a dynamic "fabric" is created with a pattern reminiscent of classic all-American gingham, able to recreate forms as fluid as that of a curtain caught in the breeze.
At some angles the curtain is solid and firm, and at others it is translucent and almost disappearing, reflecting the nature of the piece itself; a passing, ephemeral moment captured in wood.
